5 things you need to know about OT Nate Solder

Here are five things you need to know about the Giants’ new offensive tackle, Nate Solder: 1.
Originally the 17th overall pick by New England in the 2011 NFL Draft, Solder has started in 95 regular-season games and 16 postseason contests, including four Super Bowls.
Solder has two rings for victories in Super Bowls XLIX and LI.
After starting at right tackle as a rookie, the 6-foot-8, 325-pound Solder moved to left tackle in his second season and had been protecting Tom Brady’s blindside ever since.
Last season, Solder started all 16 games as Brady led the league in passing yards and earned his third NFL MVP Award.
Solder was a Pro Bowl alternate for the AFC, but did not play because the Patriots were in Super Bowl LII.
With Solder starting, the Patriots were 75-20 in the regular season and 12-4 in the postseason.
The Patriots averaged 29.9 points per game during Solder’s tenure from 2011-17, the highest in the NFL.
They were second to the Saints in yards from scrimmage and scrimmage touchdowns in that span.
The Patriots used his old skills in the 2014 AFC Championship Game, when he had a 16-yard touchdown reception from Brady in a victory over the Colts.
